The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Difference
As the two fighters participated in the usual face-off, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly proceeding.
